Free Weather Unit Downloads

With this year being one of the strangest I have ever seen weather wise (think 12" of snow in Feb and another 7" in March in N. Texas!) and spring/tornado season here I started looking around for weather information and came across this; the National Weather Service offers several downloads and teacher information on teaching weather.

Lesson plan central also has several printable worksheets.

Currclick.com offers lapbooking and unit studies on weather in every price range.

If you have a younger child then this would be a great time to pull out or borrow the book Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.

For snacks get creative and do a weather theme! Make marshmellow, popcorn or cotton candy clouds, dye some coconut green for grass, use jellybeans for rain, a yellow gum drop for the sun, use multiple colors of licorice or sour straws for a rainbow, or use your own ideas to create an edible masterpiece!

This site has great ideas on how to "cook up a storm" by doing different weather related experiments. Make your create your own cloud or make it rain with these neat ideas!

The ideas are endless! If you have done a weather study and would like to share please leave a comment with your link. I would love to see it!
